    Holiday Open House

    10am, Tree Lighting @5pm

For the official kickoff to Culpeper Downtown for the season, join Culpeper Renaissance, Inc., your favorite nonprofit Main Street program for the Holiday Open House and Community Tree Lighting on Sunday, November 23rd!

Stroll through the streets to sounds of spirited holiday music, brought to you by Eastern View High School Band (1pm-3pm) at the Grass Rootes porch (East Davis Street), while finding over 25 downtown specials and promotions to enjoy: from a museum to mimosas, it’s sure to be a delightful day!

Beginning at 11am, find Olde Towne Carriages at the Depot until 3pm.  Plus, enjoy Caricature Art by Daniel Ryman (10am-5pm), Danny’s Bounce House (11am-4:30pm), Brennan’s Balloons (12pm-3pm), and Sandy’s Face Painting (2pm-5pm), all complimentary and all within the Depot District of Culpeper Downtown.

Arriving around 2pm, Santa and Mrs. Claus will spend time in the Caboose, before the Community Tree Lighting Ceremony begins at 4:55pm!  Arrive early at the famous LOVE sign in Culpeper Downtown, for a view of the newly planted picturesque holiday tree!  Create holiday crafts, sip on warm beverages and sample cookies with booths from Culpeper Girl Scouts, MFA Studios, Culpeper Little Theater, Art of Dance, Culpeper Cub Scouts, State Climb, and event sponsors Kid Central, Smyth Team Realtors, Duckett-Corbin RE/MAX Gateway, and UVA Community Credit Union!  As the tree lighting ceremony begins, choral, theater and dance performances from MFA Dance Studio, Karen’s Line Dancing – Boom Fitness, Culpeper Little Theater, Art of Dance, Eastern View High School Troubadours, and Blue Ridge Choral will bring the magic of the holidays to life, all culminating in a warm winter greeting from Mayor Reaves and the lighting of the tree!

The glow of the tree will last throughout the season, along with holiday fun and shopping specials!

Reviews

“Love the unique gifts in this shop which represent all dog breeds. Something for every pet and all animal lovers. Nice clearance selection and free dog kibble samples in the rear. Associate who was working 9/14 (not the owner) was so helpful and accommodating. Thanks again!”

“Great selection of dog treats and the was very helpful with her recommendations. My boy liked both the goat cheese treats and the long rabbit chew. Here is a picture of him once the chew was done”

“The cutiest store for a pet lover and gifting for a pet lover. They also have THE BEST customer service! I have only shopped there on Sundays and they have the friendliest staff and so helpful. I even overheard a training session going on for a new employee and they are spot on how every customer should be treated. Kiddos on finding such great help! I love coming here!”

“My dog and I LOVE this shop. The manager is extremely kind and helpful. They are dog friendly, so I bring my dog in and they let him sample a treat before I buy it so I know he will like it since he is a picky eater. You can do an assortment of treats by the pound. They always have items on sale as well. I highly suggest coming here for your pet supply needs, you won't regret it!”

“The owner was in the process of closing up (she'd already locked the door), but opened up so my son and I could browse. She was so nice about it, and we were excited to see the brand of catnip toys our kitty loves. Our kitty is very grateful she stayed open, he's in heaven with his new toys! Thank you!”

“One of the nicest pet stores I've ever shopped. The carry wonderful things for fur babies and their people. Their Up Country collars and leashes are beautiful and very high quality. They have all kinds of special pet treats in bulk. Our picky dog loves them. T-shirts, socks, mugs, jewelry...all are incredible. They special ordered items and shipped them to me. We always stop in when in Culpeper!”

“The store has much to offer! from magnets, to coasters, to pet treats, t shirts, green product home cleaners safe for animals are a few of the products I can name from memory. they are always carrying treading items that show how in touch the staff and owner are with social trends and the interests of their customers. the staff is always pleasure and kind, they try to go above and beyond to satisfy all customer needs. if they don't have what your looking for, I wouldn't be surprised if they can quickly order it for you and your items be delivered in a timely fashion. I highly recommend this store! Cool local shop that offers more than just your basic pet needs!”

One of the coolest shops in town! We loved their inclusive signage, wide variety of gifts for both two legged and four and atmosphere. The staff were super friendly and welcoming, and we found stuff for our pups that we haven’t seen elsewhere. It was fun to just walk around!

This pet boutique offers so many fun things for humans too! They have a wonderful selection of collars, treats, and other dog/cat items but also sell fun gifts for the people who love their animal companions. It's packed with fun gift options at all price ranges. My group and I were excited to see inclusive items available in Culpeper, which definitely improved the downtown vibe. This was our second time in downtown Culpeper for lunch and the first time we explored the shops. I look forward to making this a regular stop when we visit Culpeper's dining options.
