Elvira Nailievna was born in Yoshkar-Ola, Republic of Mari-El, Russia in 1963. By the age of fourteen she was well on her way to a career in clothing design, becoming quickly familiar with techniques in designing and creating fine ladies garments with materials ranging from fine silk to heavy skins for unbearably frigid winter wear. Having taught the craft in the former Soviet Union public school system, she brought her talents to the United States in November of 2002. She has worked for such companies as Coplon's, Joseph A Bank and Neiman Marcus. Her private face mask home business began in April of 2020 in response to needs arising from the COVID-19 pandemic, and has crafted over 1,500 face masks in a variety of styles and fabrics. Her Contour Cut design (as she named it) arose from many hours of study and experimentation in her effort to create a face mask that offered more breathability without sacrificing comfort and style. Her daughter, Lenara, and husband, Vaughn, assist her with marketing, sales, fabric cutting and shipping.
